The beach at Ham Tin

We are on the large peninsula of Sai Kung in the New Territories (New Territories), so named because it was ceded to the British crown in 1898, nearly 50 years after the island of Hong Kong and 40 years After Kowloon. Although the region suffers urbanization increasing rapidly, it can still admire a beautiful nature and lifestyle of traditional villages.
Ham Tin, within the National Park Sai Kung East is perhaps the most representative and is a place called home to several dozen people at most, in tiny villages surrounded by forest on the edge Gulf of Tai Long Wan. The relative difficulty of access make the place remains untouched by mass tourism, the beach being seen by fans of surfing, hiking or camping most motivated.

A little farther to reach the beach, you have to cross a creek on a small wooden bridge, built of bits and pieces by the inhabitants of thought, which seems not to stand by the specific operation of the Holy Spirit, but the surface water lying about two feet lower, it is unlikely that a premature swim if you fall.

HOW TO GET THERE:
At the station Choi Hung, take a minibus to Sai Kung, then bus No. 94 to Wong Shek Pier (Wong Shek Pier), then you can take a ferry or rent a sampan for Chek Kung. Then he will walk one hour following the signs to Ham Tin, it is normally the first beach that we met that way.
Since the center of Hong Kong, provided that a ferry is available, all should not take more than two hours.
It is also possible to get the MTR to Diamond Hill (Green Line) and exit C, hence:
• we take the bus 96R to Pak Tam Au, before following the MacLehose Trail to Ham Tin (starting between an hour and a half to two hours of walking);
• or the 92 bus towards Sai Kung, Sai Kung and since the minibus 29R (which stop is in front of MacDonald’s). In fall commencement MacLehose Trail, ten minutes later and start to walk to Sai Wan, an hour away, and the range of Ham Tin is a little further.
FOR DIVIDED INTO:
If you want to (re-) take a ferry from Wong Shek, better check the time at which they leave (usually around 17h). Similarly, the last 29 part minibus stop MacLehose Trail in area from 16.45, if you arrive too late, we could possibly take a taxi to Sai Kung (starting around $ 80) or up ‘at the bus station nearest where they await the 96R, which comes in Diamond Hill.
